Why do I love Arcades? 🕹️
Arcade is a coin or token-operated entertainment machine. They were the predecessors of modern computer games.
There are different games (from PinBall and Pac-Man to Dance Dance Revolution and Dead or Alive).
Most games are based on skill but some are just on luck (of the minority, let’s leave them for the casino). Arcades can be for one player or more (multiplayer or cooperation).
Believe me or not but for me, physical presence is important and helps me get more involved in the game. And a system with rewards in the form of tickets you can exchange for gifts helps a lot 🎟️
As a designer, I’m playing arcade and say to everyone quote-unquote that I’m doing research, haha 🤣
