On April 28th, the Korean app market One Store announced CookApps’ Self-Service Knight : idle RPG as the top beta game. The game combines the chest root genre and idle RPG, offering players the experience of crafting weapons, gathering allies, and clearing various dungeons. It also features a unique gear crafting and free draw system.

7. Button E&M

Button E&M is an Android developer that has been active since 2016 and has only one mobile game Anger of stick 5 : zombie in Google Play. It is highly ranked in several countries, and is also one of the most popular apps in the Android ecosystem with more than 100 million installs.

8. KRAFTON, Inc.

KRAFTON is best known for its hit title PUBG Mobile, which has a massive global player base. They focus on high-quality, immersive gaming experiences and have expanded into various gaming genres​.

KRAFTON announced on the 6th that it has appointed Jin-ho Oh, former Head of Business at Riot Games, as Chief Global Publishing Officer (CGPO). Oh, with experience at Garena and Blizzard, will oversee KRAFTON’s global business from September, 2024. This move aims to strengthen KRAFTON’s international business by expanding publishing and developing new IPs.

9. SUPERBOX Inc.

SUPERBOX is renowned for its casual games, particularly in the puzzle genre. They aim to provide entertaining and relaxing gaming experiences for users of all ages.

In the first half of 2024, Melon Maker by SUPERBOX ranked 9th among the top 10 most downloaded mobile games in Korea. Alongside SUPERBOX, only two other domestic companies made the list: 111% and Netmarble.

10. Com2uS

Com2uS has a long history of developing successful mobile games, including the popular Summoners War series. They focus on creating engaging and long-lasting game experiences with high replay value.

Com2uS Holdings’ blockchain mainnet, XPLA, is expanding to Japan in collaboration with the Japanese blockchain project Oasys to establish the Layer 2 chain, XPLA Verse. The chain launched on July 21 and will onboard popular Com2uS games like Summoners War: Chronicles and The Walking Dead: All-Stars. This expansion aims to lead the Japanese Web3 market.

However, Com2uS has faced financial challenges, with a recent downgrade in its credit rating from ‘A’ to ‘A-‘ due to ongoing poor performance and limited short-term profit improvement.
