Save The Date: 2-7 December! How can we shine a spotlight on the burgeoning but lesser-known African gaming industry? That was the question on the minds of AGW Co-Founders, Nick Hall and Rex Bowden, as they attended events like GDC, GamesCon, Paris Games Week, and others. They realized that the international gaming market had little understanding of Africa’s gaming scene. This realization led to the concept of an event in Cape Town that would unite African gaming talent, including studio heads, developers, industry professionals, and newcomers, to showcase the excellence of Africa’s gaming industry. Thus, they took action. By bringing Alexandra Pattison on board as Event Director, they embarked on creating a central hub to connect, engage, and foster the growth of the African gaming industry.
